Down with the Creeping Crud
I haven't forgotten everyone, the soap production has come to a screeching halt until the creeping crud makes its exit out of my house. I came down with the affliction on Friday afternoon...suddenly and swiftly it settled in, and still have not gotten over it. My husband and son now both have it. Today we all spent the day off work together nursing our ailments. Since I work around kids and food for my full-time job, health regulations are that I need to be symptom and/or fever free for 24 hours before I can return to work. As of this afternoon I am still running a 100 degree F fever. I have an amazing team in the kitchen aat school and they do a fabulous job pulling it together in my absence so I can focus on getting better. The plus in all of the current situation is this will behind me before winter vacation starts in 11 days!

RazzNilla is Back in the House!
I had the evening to myself and took to the soap room once again, after I tucked dinner into the oven to do its thing. RazzNilla is one of my all time favorite soaps, and second best seller after the Kitchen Soap. The mad scientist in me decided to tweak the soap formula a touch, and play away. This time I used water instead of goat milk because I wanted to see how the formula behaved before advancing to goat milk. I am anxious to see how this one turns out when it is ready to come out of the mold and cut into bars...but most of all, I can't wait for the cure time to pass by so I can test the new formula. It is always a mystery until then. It is hard to see the swirls on top as I used my cell phone to take the pictures, and the lighting at night doesn't exactly do me any favors, either.

Fun In The Snow But Looking Forward to Spring
Christina's favorite Aunty taught her how to make snow angels as she tested out the new snow suit that was given to her for Christmas. And not a moment too soon, we finally had enough snow for her to get out and enjoy.
The only snow I enjoy are days when a call comes in the wee hours that we have no school due to inclement weather. This Grammy gets all giddy with excitement and the creative soap making juices flow. Several new batches of spring soap are currently on the curing rack, and will make a debut in our online store later this month.

It's a Summer Sale!

After two false alarms where we thought Grandbaby # 2 would arrive way early, all is well. Momma to be is holding up well, back to work to wait it out, AND the baby is healthy and continues to grow. All has been quiet for a couple weeks and I've been able to tackle some much needed cleaning and organizing in the soap room!
I've been working on new products as well as streamlining and revamping my soap business. The exciting details will be announced at a later date. Just know that I am jazzed up and super excited to take the next step to grow this business into something much larger than it has been.

Introducing Goat Milk Soaps ~ A new product line for 2010

This is an unscented bar of soap that has been enhanced with the addition of goat milk. No colorant has been added to this soap, the color is a natural result of the soap making process.
Goat milk protein contains essential amino acids as well as vitamins A and B and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. With its natural emollients, goat milk soap can relieve dryness and leave your skin feeling silky soft. Goat milk soap is often recommended by dermatologists for their patients who suffer from skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne.

It's Been A While
Time has managed to slip away from me the past several months, and blogging has had to take a back seat. I found my soaping groove which means the blogging groove is coming back, also. :) Here is one of my newest creations ~

Purple Mountain Majesty ~ This is the epitome of clean and crisp. It's the ultimate water scent with the freshness of an icy mountain lake packed into one single bar of soap. This is sure to please both men and women alike. You can find some of this fabulous soap here!
On another note...I have had to put the comments on this blog under moderation due to the excessive amount of spam and obscene comments that have been left in recent months.

Welcome to My Mess(es)!
A Soapers favorite safety tools...

Pouring Chocoholics Unite soap into the mold...as you can see my soapy messes interrupt cooking messes...and actually, I'm accused of taking over the entire house, so I really should have just taken a photo of the exterior of the house and posted that, instead. Please note that this photo was taken a long time ago before I cut off all of my hair.

Soap all cut and ready for the curing rack...

It's That Time of Year Again
I'm anxious to get my garden planted. This year we had a friend come in with his tractor to expand the garden to 3 times the size it was last year. In 20 minutes time the job was done ~ what would have taken me days/weeks to complete by hand. I resist planting too early up here in Vermont because we still have some frosty mornings.
Even though I use gloves when I garden, there are just some gardening chores I prefer to use my bare hands to take care of. That is where this handy dandy soap comes into play....
I have developed this soap for those who have a love for digging in the dirt. The ground luffa is added for exfoliation. The super-fatted soap is formulated to aid in bringing moisture back into those dry hands after gardening. Delicate lettuce and rain combines with soft spearmint and is presented to you in a luxurious experience for gardener's everywhere. This is sure to be a hit with your hands and your gardening friends. Stop on by my shop to get yours today!

Baby Shower Favors
I'm hosting a baby shower next month for Melissa. I've been plotting and scheming since she announced her pregnancy...and now it is show time to get ready. We know she's having a girl and this is one of the favors for the shower. Time consuming, but rewarding and well worth the effort, I think. She selected her favorite fragrance for the soap.

Interested in having some custom baby shower favors made for an event you are planning? We now offer then in 6 packs and 12 packs.
