So I've been a slacker in blog land once again (sigh).  I've been happily enjoying the newest grand girlie, and boy is she a real charmer already!  :)

On a creative note, the Holiday season depleted a lot of stock and supplies so time to plan and restock. Most recently I have been creating and testing soy candles to add to our product line this year.  A fun adventure, indeed.

I discovered a wonderful soy wax that resists bloom unlike most soy wax on the market.  The consistency of this wax is creamy, and offers a great scent throw both cold and hot.  Combined with a cotton wick, I'm deeply pleased with the eco friendly burn and overall end result of the candles.

The Razz Nilla Soy Candle shown above is now available in our online shop, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Happy New Year 2014!

Hard to believe a new year is about to begin once again.  When I think back over this year, after having been away for two years, I am pleased with the direction my little soap business, on the side, is headed.  I have gained many new local customers, and online customers this past year, not to mention a very busy Holiday season.  The new soap designs are being thought out and executed in a manner that makes them eye catching and fun, but yet they are still functional and useful.  There has been a considerable amount of time and thought put into the packaging and presentation.  While some are great for local sales, they are not so great for shipping and still need more work, while others I am very happy with.

Strawberry Daiquiri Soap Cake Slice

One of my newest creations heading into 2014, Strawberry Daiquiri Soap Cake Slices.  Soap Cake Slices and Soap Cupcakes were extremely popular this past Christmas as they are unique and fun yet functional.  Many customers mentioned they would be delighted to be the recipient of one of these beauties, which is why they bought them for gifts.  These beautiful soap cake slices are perfect for Valentine's Day, and will be ready to ship out on January 15, 2014.  They are currently listed in our online shop on a Pre-Order basis, and will ship out and arrive to your domestic location in time for Valentine's Day.

Going forward into the new year I have many new designs, new fragrances, and packaging enhancements for many of these new soaps.  Additionally, I have companion products that will be making their debut this next year.  Keep watch both here and on our Facebook page, which is where I tend to post a bit more frequently.

Behold The Dutch Oven!

I have many kitchen utensils and all sorts of gidgets and gadgets that I've collected over the years.  But, it wasn't until Ashley left her dutch oven at my house before I had the pleasure of using one.  I was immediately in love!  I dropped a very "not so subtle hint" that I really NEED Santa to bring me one of those dutch ovens for Christmas this year.  Imagine my excitement when Ashley, my little cupid, brought me a beautiful cranberry color dutch oven for Valentine's Day!  I guess my "not so subtle hint" worked!  :)   Of course, I have always been in love with cast iron, but sadly have set them aside because they are not safe to use on the glass flat cooktop and only haul them out to use on the gas burner on my gas grill in the summer. Imagine my excitement in finding out that these beautiful enamel covered cast iron beauties can be safely used on my stovetop!  

 

A Special Valentine

My Special Valentine is not what most would think. It's not my hubby, who I absolutely adore. My special Valentine is near and dear to my heart and has been part of my life since I was born. It would be hard to celebrate Valentine's Day properly without sending a card, or making a phone call to my Special Valentine. This year my Special Valentine is turning 94. She will always hold a place of special honor and remembrance on Valentine's Day.
