Vroom, Vroom Here I Come!

One Cool Monkey
Recently I attended a baby shower for one of my co-workers, and decided to make the gift memorable.  The inspiration for this gift came from Thom's Crafts and Treats on You Tube.

I had so much fun shopping for all of the items to make this diaper motorcycle.  My husband thought I had completely lost my mind as he watched it all come together piece by piece.  Once transformed into a cool monkey wearing baby sunglasses and riding a motorcycle, my husband found the project to be "pretty cool".  Hey, for a guy to like a baby shower gift, that says something.
Vroom, Vroom Here I Come!

The monkey on the motocycle became the center attraction at the baby shower, as no one had thought of a table decoration for the occasion (it was pretty laid back in typical Vermont fashion).

The expectant mom was delighted with the gift and reports that her significant other refused to let her take it apart after she got home.  Turns out he's a huge motorcycle fan so the gift was perfect.

It is always fun to turn ordinary useful gifts into something fun and memorable.

Catching Up

Summer "vacation" will be over after today, when I return to the regular routine of School Food Service for another year.  It's been a rather busy summer, and looks to be equally busy this fall.  The fact that next weekend is Labor Day is unbelievable to me.  Where has the summer gone?

After spending a week in Boston for the ANC (Annual National Conference) for SNA (School Nutrition
Beautiful Day
Association), I came home to put finishing touches on wedding plans for one of my daughters.  Beautiful day, beautiful bride, and everything was absolutely perfect.  Even though I have been step-grammy to now 9 & 10 year old girls since they were 2 & 3 years old, it is now official when my daughter tied the knot.  Those of you who remember when Christina was born...she's going to Kindergarten this year!  My how the time has flown by, and Hailley is now 4!

Tomato Heaven
Then it was on to a week of statewide school food service training where I embarked on a graduate level course in Nutrition and Food Education, and taught two classes for the State of Vermont.   One of the days we took participants of the class to a local organic farm, and I was delighted with the hoop frame set up they utilize for growing tomatoes...it was definitely Tomato Heaven!   The classes were held up near where my daughter and the 4 grand girlies live, so I made nightly visits after classes were finished each day.
Diaper Cake & Purse

To round out the last weekend of summer vacation, I hosted a baby shower for my younger daughter, who is expecting in October.  The guest list grew, and the space in my house kept feeling smaller, so we borrowed a big tent for the yard, and after it went up we had two days of non-stop rain.  I was worried, to say the least, but the rain moved out and everything started drying out in time for the party.  In my ever creative mode, I embarked on creating a diaper cake for the shower, and when I found myself with leftover diapers I made a diaper purse, because every little girl needs a purse, right?
Soy Tea Lights

Today has been all about catching up with packaging, photographs, and listing items in my online shop.  Today I added soy wax melts and tea lights (boxes made in house) in some of my summer scents, and will be adding fall and holiday fragrances in the near future.  Also added are some fizzing bath salts in 9 oz. and 16 oz. bags.  The 9 oz. bags are handcrafted in house.

Rich and Creamy Vanilla Buttercream Collection

It's a yummy addiction for your skin like no other...

Body Lotion ~ This is the perfect formula that leaves your skin feeling soft without that greasy slimey after touch.
Loofah Soap ~ Your feet are going to Thank You! We've taken a generous slice of loofah and submerged it in a luxurious helping of 100% Vegan Friendly Glycerin Soap. What can be better than a nice bar of scented soap that will both exfoliate and cleanse those rough, stinky feet?
Body Lotion Parfait ~ This is a very yummy Body Lotion Parfait. Smells every bit as yummy as it looks (but we don't advise eating this). Chock full of skin loving goodies and layered with aloe vera gel...what can be better than that?
Bubble Bath ~ This Bubble Bath offers loads of bubbles to enjoy alone, or with someone special. So unique in that you could use the product as a shower gel. Versatile and full of awesomeness!
Natural Soap ~ This soap is dripping with the essence of rich and creamy Vanilla Buttercream and we've tossed in some brown sugar for exfoliation. The superfatted soap formula is my own signature formula. It will leave your skin feeling extra pampered and loved.
Whipped Sugar Scrub ~ This is some great stuff! We've taken our Whipped Soap and combined it with some sugar ~ creating a fabulous scrub! Leaves your skin feeling clean, soft and moisturized. Best of all, this product is Paraben Free. A little goes a long way with this fabulous Whipped Sugar Scrub.

Baby Shower Favors

I'm hosting a baby shower next month for Melissa. I've been plotting and scheming since she announced her pregnancy...and now it is show time to get ready. We know she's having a girl and this is one of the favors for the shower. Time consuming, but rewarding and well worth the effort, I think. She selected her favorite fragrance for the soap.

Interested in having some custom baby shower favors made for an event you are planning? We now offer then in 6 packs and 12 packs.
