Getting Back in the Groove

I am feeling better today, and even returned to work, although I pretty much stayed in my office all day.  Even though I sat at my desk the majority of the day, I was pretty tired when I got home this afternoon.

I am staying away from the soap room until this persistent cough subsides.  When I work in my soap room  I wear a mask, hair net, and gloves but I don't want to risk passing any stray germs into the soap I make.  I also feel I need to not over-do it and end up with a relapse.

Obviously, I have no new soap photos to share, but I wanted to share a cute photo I snapped of my daughter's cat, Maci.  I caught her sleeping on the couch the other day and found her pose to be quite comical.  She was born with the bob tail which I find to be the cutest thing ever, and she has the longest whiskers!

Happy 2010!

Snuggles was sitting on the bench. Christina crawled over to him and just before she pulled herself up on the bench to play with him, he took off under the table. As she was lifting the table cloth to find him, Snuggles casually poked his head out by the bench and walked over to me. I wasn't fast enough to capture the entire moment, but I did capture a great moment of Christina. :)

Snuggles ~ AKA Mr. Mischief ~ And His Latest Etsy Purchase

Ok, so the shirt isn't an Etsy purchase, but anyone who would come up with this sort of idea would probably make a ton of money off folks if they did. My daughter spent a wad of money on the shirt and the cat absolutely HATES it. He doesn't go far when you put it on him. If he misbehaves you only have to hold up the shirt and he'll disappear at the speed of light.

He didn't disappear when his latest Etsy purchase from our friend Linda at All About Cats arrived in the mail.

The boy went mad, he went wild and crazy and we didn't hear from him for hours afterwards.

They Call Me...MISTER MISCHIEF

We knew when we brought this guy into our home we were doomed. His real name is Snuggles, but he's ANYTHING but snuggly. He snuggles on HIS terms, the rest of the time he's our little mischief maker. If he decides it is time to snuggle, no matter how many times you put him down on the floor he will be right back pestering you. I can't begin to tell you how many times he would push our big black lab off her bed so he could take it over.

I have walked into a room and found him sitting on objects that were clearly not his domain. It's like he knows how to get under my skin and prove to me that "HE" rules this house. With the dog gone, the mischievious boy has taken full advantage of all the attention that comes his way. So perhaps SOME of his mischievious nature comes from being...spoiled? NAH!!!

This past winter we heated the house with a woodstove for the first time. All winter long we feared he was going to cook his brains from the inside out as his permanent residence was behind or under the woodstove. We had several months of not having to deal with a naughty cat and wondering what he's chosen to use as a "bed".

Now that we've had the nice warm spring air coming in, he begs for the windows to be opened AND He's up to his tricks again...

Turn my back long enough to gather the ingredients and look who has made a new home...Now if I could just teach him how to run the mixer and bake, we'd be golden!

NOTE: While I was putting this post together there were several (unsuccessful) attempts to evict me from the chair. He's sitting in the window sulking as I type.
