I have enjoyed reading all of the entries for the Product Testing Request. Each one presented a great case and some presented rather interesting skin needs. In all fairness, we numbered each request and drew numbers this evening. The winners are:
# 4 - Sarah
# 5 - glorybe1024
# 7 - StormyDesigns
Please send me your mailing addresses via convo on my Etsy Store and we'll get these sent right out to you for testing!

Looking for Product Testers of our new Shea Butter Whipped Body Frosting
This looks to be a truly decadent treat for the skin. I've made whipped shea butter in the past with not so good results. I was determined to come up with an end result that is light, airy and fluffy in texture. I'm finally on to a formula that I'm starting to be happy with and need feedback in order to fine tune the formula.
Only problem being, I don't have dry skin except in the deep winter and even then only my legs and hands are affected. Sooooooooooo....I am in search of some willing test subjects that are affected with dry skin year round to help me with product development. I already have one willing product tester that is trying this out on her feet and I'm looking for 3 more willing test subjects that are up for the challenge. If you are interested in being a product tester for this project you will need to use the product, then offer up constructive criticism ~ good or not so good (I can handle it).
Here's the skinny on the ingredients: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit , Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Fragrance, Mica.
What can I say, it comes in Sparkling Champagne ~ one of my hottest fragrances of the moment.
What do you have to do to be considered as product tester? You must leave a comment right here on this blog post telling me why you should be considered as a product tester. If you feel so inclined, perhaps you could share some skin issues you are dealing with and how you think this product will help you. This will be a fast moving process, so I'm only going to accept "applications" through September 25, 2008. Just remember, you must agree to give feedback on the product to help with development.
I look forward to reading your posts.

Donating for a Good Cause
I was recently approached to donate some itmes to benefit a young family in need of some help with medical bills after the wife suffered a strange reaction from medication after an emergency C-section.

There are so many needs these days, but this one seemed to touch my heart for reasons I cannot explain. My most recent donation can be seen here if anyone is interested http://auctionforcarol.blogspot.com/2008/09/mohair-lapghan.html

The Most Dangerous Cake Recipe in the World
Someone sent this to me on email so I bring it here to share with all my bloggy friends...don't say I didn't warn you. Teresa, get your treadmill ready cuz you are REALLY gonna need it this winter!
The 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons cake flour (that's plain flour, not self-raising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla essence
1 coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The
cake
will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now
we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or
night!

Etsyblogger of the Month ~ September 2008
The Fearless Leader of the Wild, the Wacky and sometimes unruly Etsybloggers ~ Joey & Aleethea ~ In her profile she states, "Whether your baby is a monster, a rocker, a jock, a tree-hugger, a military brat, a corporate coo-er, a diva, a retro radical, a cowboy or an indian, an artiste, a punk, a prince or princess, there's no doubt your baby is super cutesie! We've got super cutesie coolness...handmade by a mom." Apparently a lot of other folks agree, because according to the Etsy Wiki she is in the top sellers on Etsy! Woo Hoo ~ Rock on Joey! No Etsyblogger would be complete without a blog. You can check out her blog here. Congratulations, Joey, and thanks for making this group such an active and fun one to belong to.

I Haven't Forgotten
Things have been super busy at work this week and I've been putting in a lot of long days. It happens at the beginning of every school year, nothing new. I didn't, however, anticipate having to find a substitute for one of my staff members so early in the school year. She's been out all week with a very sick child and I'm extremely thankful to have a substitute pool to choose from this year, unlike previous years where we had to limp by when someone was absent. So....don't worry, I promise to do the drawing this weekend for the contest when I have more enthusiasm and energy to announce with excitement. I'm still waiting for one small detail of the prize to be ready before announcing, anyway. :)
