Look What I Came Home To Find Today

You would think by the time your kids reach 17 & 18 years of age they would know what a coat rack is and HOW to use one, right?
Apparently not ~ and look who has taken up residence in the coats hung ever so neatly on the floor!

Notice that the boot tray is empty...and boots are scattered around on the floor. ARGH!!!

Oooh, I'd smack my kids and give them what-for...LOL! But I have to say the cat is so cute and such an opportunist. ;)

Grr I find that so irritating. Why is it so hard to just hang them up? It is husbands too.

Maybe you shouldn't blame the kids...It looks like it was the cat that took the coat from the coat tree to snuggle up in! :D

Speaking of the floor, did you hit the roof?

Hit the roof? Smack them? I'm ready to do some major readjusting on the rear component of their bodies as I give a nice swift kick. The coat rack is in the front hall~ the same hall they have to walk through to climb the stairs to go to their rooms. I swear they left the coats there again today just to watch my blood pressure rise, smoke pour out of my ears, and flames shoot out of my nostrils!

You know.. I find that the removal of offending garments to an undisclosed and highly top secret location when it is VERY COLD outside generally cures this problem. PLUS the supreme smug satisfaction you can gain when they say "MOOOMMMMM! Where's my coat??" And you can say "goodness dear, I think it might be with the coat rack, which you can't find either.. and my have you noticed how COLD it is outside today??"

I know some thirty-somethings who still haven't got to grips with hanging coats etc

I feel your pain! My 13 and 17 y.o.'s do this all the time too!

I like the idea of hiding their things until they get the idea to take care of them properly though. My mom was mean when I was a kid, if anything was left out too long never mind taking it away, she'd throw it out!
